After reading about the shootings at Fort Hood, my concerns about the security of this country cranked up a notch or two. This Hassan character that did the shooting and others like him is what worries me.
First of all the story reported that he did his internship at Walter Reed Hospital, where he received poor performance evaluations. Then shortly after he was promoted to major. Promoted, after poor performance evaluation? Something is wrong here. I'd like to have a talk with that brain dead idiot who recommended him for promotion.
Most importantly, I want to touch on something that the military and law enforcement will dance around and not comment on because they are concerned about political correctness and fear of offending any one religious group.
I firmly believe that Hassan was a "sleeper," a terrorist lying in wait, until the time was right to launch his "jihad" holy war; doing as much damage as he could before he departed for his 72 virgins. Impossible you say? Think about who took over those airplanes with box cutters on 9-11. Think about the many investigations being conducted by Homeland Security and the FBI into terrorist cells right here in the United States. It's not a matter of "if" the terrorists will hit again, it is a matter of when.
