SEBRING - Landscaping lovers, green thumbs, and bargain hunters alike, mark your calendars for the Master Gardener plant sale Saturday, Nov. 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Varieties of Florida-friendly plants, trees, and shrubs will be available at low prices during the sale, to be held at the Bert J. Harris Jr. Agricultural Center Auditorium at 4509 George Blvd. in Sebring.

"We're going to have lots of varieties. We we'll have yuccas, palms, bromeliads, hibiscus bushes, hollies, white birds of paradise, Mexican flame vine, gardenias, live oaks, and more. Prices are $2 to $20 per plant," said Sandi McMechen, organizer and master gardener volunteer.

The master gardeners will also be on hand to answer plant-related questions and offer suggestions on vegetable gardening, butterfly gardening, rain barrels and more. Children are invited to take part in a number of plant-related crafts at the volunteer-staffed craft area while parents shop.

"The children's area was really popular last year," recalled McMechen.

Proceeds from the sale will go to Highlands County youth scholarships. For more information, call 863-402-6540.
