Sebring All-Sport Passes now available
SEBRING
Sebring High School is selling All Sport Passes for the 2009-10 school year. The pass is valid for all home sporting events, excluding FHSAA sponsored playoffs and tournaments.
The cost of the pass is $75 per adult and $50 per student. They are on sale in the front office, check payable to Sebring High School.

Harder Hall golf scramble
SEBRING
The 10th annual Sebring Meals on Wheels Golf Scramble will be held on Nov. 14 at the Harder Hall Golf Course. Shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Participants can register in advance and save money.
The entry fee is $60 per person or $240 for a foursome. The entry fee includes continental breakfast, golf and cart, lunch, goodie bag and prizes. The field is limited to 144 golfers.
Contact Sebring Meals on Wheels office at 863-402-1818 to register. Deadline for all entries is Nov. 7.

Junior tennis after-school program
SEBRING
A nine-week junior tennis after-school program for kids ages 4-18 will run through Dec. 18 at the Thakkar Tennis Center at Sebring Country Club. The program will be run by Horace Watkins, a USPTA certified pro with more than 25 years experience teaching junior tennis.

SFCC baseball camp
AVON PARK
South Florida Community College will host its annual baseball camp for only high school baseball players on Nov. 21 and Dec. 19.
Cost for the camp is $60 per camper, and the first 40 registered campers will be accepted.
SFCC baseball coach Rick Hitt will serve as camp director, and camp instructors include Panthers assistant coaches Andy Polk and Chad Wright.

Charity golf tournament

Golf Hammock Country Club will host the inaugural CHS/Hanson House charity golf tournament on Nov. 7. The four-person, step-aside scramble format will begin with registration at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8:30.
There will be a new car prize given for a hole-in-one on the specified hole, with closest-to-the-pin and closest-to-the-line on other holes.
A silent auction, raffle, 50-50 drawing, beverages on the course and lunch will all be included in the $60 registration fee. Sponsorships are still available. Stop by the pro shop for a registration form or call 863-382-2151 for more information.

Golf lessons

Sun 'N Lake Country Club is holding junior clinics every Friday from 3:30-5 p.m.
Professionals Andy Kesling and Marty O'Hora will teach all the fundamentals of the game, including the grip, stance, full swing, chipping, putting, rules, etiquette, etc. No need to sign up; just show up. Cost per clinic is $15.

YMCA hoops signup

Registration deadline for the youth basketball and cheerleading signups is Oct. 31 for both programs. Youth basketball is for ages 4-14, with a cost of $35 for members and $70 for non-members. Cheerleading is for ages 5-13, with a cost of $35 for members and $45 for non-members.

YFC/FCA Golf Clinic

The YFC/FCA Golf Clinic will be held on Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sun 'N Lake Country Club. An optional scramble will also be held from 1 to 3 p.m.
The event is open for all ninth through 12 graders. Lunch will be provided. Players will learn from the likes of Brian Bone, Pete Dupriest, Andy Kesling, Tim Foster, John Vickers and Elgin Bayless. Horseshoe club

Memorial golf tourney

The members at Spring Lake Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Women of Spring Lake Presbyterian Church are seeking donations for its second annual "Doc" Decker Memorial Golf Tournament on Nov. 14 at Spring Lake Golf Course.
The tournament will be a 10 a.m. shotgun start, and the cost is $50 for non-members.

Lake Placid Chamber tourney

The 16th annual Greater Lake Placid Chamber of Commerce golf tournament will be held Thursday, Nov. 19 at Placid Lakes Country Club. The $300 registration fee entitles the four-person team to begin the day with lunch before playing an 18-hole round, with on-course refreshments, awards, and all team members will receive a raffle ticket and are eligible to win door prizes. Sebring girls coach Debby McNall and Kim Darrow will host junior golf clinics beginning Thursdays at 4 p.m. at the Sebring Municipal Golf Course. The Lake Placid youth baseball and softball board meeting will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lake June Ballfielders Meeting Room. American Legion golf tournament

The annual charity fundraising golf tournament hosted by American Legion Post 69 will be held on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Sun 'N Lake's Deer Run golf course, with the new island hole. Players should arrive at the course no later than 7:30 a.m. for the 8 a.m. shotgun start. The Avon Park Junior ROTC will benefit from the proceeds.
Entry fee is $40 per person, which includes coffee and donuts, on-course refreshments and sub sandwiches and prizes awards after the golf at American Legion Post 69. Tournament registrations can be competed at the Post, and for more information, call 863-453-4553. Entries will be accepted no later than Nov. 18.

AP golf tournament

The Avon Park Project Graduation golf tournament will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5 at River Greens Golf Course, with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The tournament format is a four-person scramble and the cost is $60, which includes greens fees, food and prizes. There is a $100 hole sponsor cost, and $350 corporate sponsor fee (hole sign, four golfers, food and eight mulligans). There also will be raffle prizes, longest drive contests and closest-to-the-pin contests.
