Bowlers sought for MDA fundraiser

LAKE PLACID - The Muscular Dystrophy Association is once again partnering with Sweetbay Supermarket in the seventh annual "Bowl for a Cure" fundraising event.
The event will be held at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at Royal Palms Bowling Center in Lake Placid. Registration begins at 4:30.
Sweetbay employees have been recruiting teams of people to bowl, securing auction items, selling lane sponsorships and taking donations to raised for MDA's local healthcare service programs.
Bowlers are needed. A volunteer gets a free night of bowling for raising $50 in donations.
Any business/company may sponsor a bowling lane for a $100 donation. The business will have a banner with the company name displayed above the lane the night of the event.
Gigi Ridley, who is the office manager at Sweetbay in Lake Placid, is organizing the event. Ridley can be reached at 465-0416.
