LAKE PLACID - Two sisters remained in jail Wednesday following their arrest on warrants alleging they battered a pregnant woman.
Andrea Leondra Wilson, 20, and Felicia Tanithia Wilson, 18, both of 311 Sun 'n Lakes Blvd., Lake Placid, were charged with aggravated battery when the offender should have known the victim was pregnant. Their bonds are $15,000 and $10,000, respectively.
On April 30, the victim was walking on Williams Street in Lake Placid's Highway Park subdivision when Andrea Wilson reportedly walked up to her and started punching her in the face. A witness who was walking with the victim started shouting for Andrea to stop since the victim was pregnant, according to the arrest report.
Andrea continued hitting the victim and was joined by Felicia Wilson, who also allegedly started battering the woman.
The witness and several other bystanders were able to get Andrea away, but Felicia went up to the victim - now sitting on the ground - and kicked her in the stomach, the report stated.
The victim told authorities she was 16 weeks pregnant when the alleged incident happened.
Highlands County Sheriff's Deputy Sharon Pridgeon made the arrest.
