On Tuesday, May 5, as I sat at the red light on Schumaker Road waiting to turn onto U.S. 27, an older gentleman mistook his gas pedal for the brake and slammed into the back of my Jeep Liberty. I immediately called my firefighter husband to come to my rescue.
As I sat in distress with tears flowing, an Embarq truck pulled in front of me and the driver came to my car and asked if I was OK or if I needed help. I told him I was OK but to check the gentleman behind me.
My husband arrived and after seeing we were both all right, he saw that we needed to move our vehicles out of traffic.
Another Embarq truck pulled up behind us, put on his flashers and put out road blockers.
He helped my husband move both cars and picked up the pieces off the road. Now, whenever I see an Embarq truck I think of those two gentlemen and how they took the time to help two distressed people.
I send you my thanks and may a kind firefighter be there to help your family if they ever need it. Thank you both very much.
