Cinco de Mayo party on tap

LAKE PLACID - Cinco de Mayo will include a motorcycle, car and truck show, live music and a swap meet at Crystal Creek Country Club and La Casita Restaurant near Lake Placid.
The club and restaurant, located at 131 Sun 'N Lakes Blvd., are hosting "Handlebars and Hot Rods" from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. May 9.
The event will also have a DJ, food, vendors, prizes and raffles, six types of beer from domestic to Mexican import and a 50/50 drawing.
Allen Hench, who owns the restaurant, said the idea behind the event is "to meet people who have a love for their rides, and love to show and talk about them and to connect with the vendors and people that help make our rides the realized visions of our dreams."
There is no fee for this event for exhibitors or visitors.
The American Cancer Society will be accepting donations.
