Lake Placid To Dedicate New Mural Today

LAKE PLACID - A new mural in Lake Placid is going to be dedicated at 11 a.m. today at Rhodes Law Firm, located at 307 E. Interlake Blvd., Lake Placid, to show the beginning of basketball at Lake Placid High School in 1939-1940.

The mural is named Decades of the Green Dragons, and the artist is Keith Goodsen.

The mural dedication will be hosted by Roy W. Henderson, who is the son of Roy A. Henderson, pictured in the mural; he was the center on the Lake Placid team. Roy is now 88 and will speak at the dedication.

Ted Eide, son of former team member Alfred Eide, who is the only living member of the team, will also speak.

Harriet Porter, with the Lake Placid Mural Society, will introduce the artist. The building wall providers are Susan and David Rhodes and there will be special music provided by Marty Capodifero.
