The Department of Community Affairs and the Department of state were invited to the Sunset Review Committee to answer questions, according to State Rep. Denise Grimsley.

The story in Friday's Highlands Today, "DCA Could Be On The Chopping Block," stated Secretary Thomas Pelham was invited to testify, which he said on Friday was incorrect.

Grimsley said her committee recommended the merger of the two departments, but has not changed any growth management laws.

"The Government Accountability Council is charged with reviewing agencies according to a schedule and this was the year for their review," Grimsley said Friday.

Cathy Futral will discuss the color palette and the history and evolution of plein air painting at 1 p.m., April 16 at South Florida Community College's Museum of Florida Arts and Culture. A news brief in Friday's paper had an error in its headline concerning what was being offered. We regret the error.
