SEBRING - A Sebring woman remained in jail Thursday on a $20,000 bond after allegedly spraying Mace in the eyes of her ex-boyfriend's current girlfriend.
Rachel Marie Kooi, 23, of 110 Cody Way, Sebring, was arrested Tuesday and charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling while unarmed and misdemeanor battery.
Law enforcement received a report from a husband and wife living on Sebring Avenue that Kooi had come to their home and called out the victims, who, along with her boyfriend, are roommates of the couple's.
When she refused to come outside, Kooi reportedly came into the home through the sliding glass door and sprayed Mace into the victim's face. The suspect then grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground, according to the arrest report.
The victim's boyfriend grabbed Kooi and pushed her outside, at which time the suspect then left.
The victim told law enforcement she thinks Kooi doesn't like her because she is dating the suspect's ex-boyfriend.
Kooi denied having any involvement in the incident and said it was made up by everyone at the home, the report stated.
Law enforcement said the victim's face was "slightly red and irritated" by the Mace.
