Titanic Metaphor

Published: March 21, 2009

When the Titanic first hit the iceberg the people were in denial that this mighty ship could not fail, thinking that even God could not sink her. It is said that if a few things had been done, many more souls would have been saved. Things like: if all of the life boats had been filled, if wooden doors had been removed and grouped together or if the captain had allowed the ship to travel at its correct speed, the iceberg could have been avoided and all would have survived.

In these times, our ship is facing many icebergs, be they inevitable or conceived. Our past captains and crews directed the ship towards harm's way for an eventual sinking. But our new captain and the scallywags giving our wealth away are planning on beaching our ship. They plan to make and create an inferior ship (this is being done with quickness and deception) where their passengers are enslaved and any resistors are eliminated. The irony is that their ship will sink but there will be no survivors.
