Cheerleaders Fundraising For International Championships

SEBRING - The EDGE All Star Senior 4 Coed Cheerleaders qualified to compete at the first International All Levels Championships in Atlanta on April 11.

They placed first at the Spirit Sports National Championships in February and are now training to represent Highlands and Hardee counties at this major event featuring the top All Star cheer teams from throughout the nation.

The Senior Coed Team is coached by Jenny Rowe, EDGE cheer owner Maurice Williams and Sarah Cleveland. The team members are: Kiersten McSheffrey, Sami Jo Hawkins, Cayli Watt, Taylor Clark, Alicia Clark, Ashley Potts, Dana Douglas, Shelby Lambert, Josh Heflin, Sumer Lewis, Coleby Slade, Jen Tomblin, Victoria Caraballo, Jorge Vicens, Tarryn Paterson, Britney Lewis, Madison Grubb, Ashley Alicea, Dallas Carlisle, Carli Watt, Marysa Haak, Steven Madray, Trey Blair, Merry Roberts, Mariah Cardona, and Danielle Ely.

The athletes are holding several fundraisers to assist in paying for the travel and entry costs for the competition. There is a barbeque on Friday, March 27 from 4 -7 p.m. at the EDGE Cheer Center, located at 502 Maple Ave., in Sebring.

Tickets are $7 each and include half a chicken, beans, slaw, bread, and a cookie. The cheerleaders are also having a car wash at the Lake Placid Bank of America on Saturday, March 28.
