SEBRING - The Sebring High School Varsity Co-Ed cheerleaders advanced to the final round of the National High School Cheerleading Championship, the most prestigious cheerleading contest in the country. They placed ninth in the nation, against 17 other top squads from across the country.
The NHSCC is held at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, and nationally televised on ESPN and ESPN2 to more than 100 million homes and 32 countries nationwide each year.
Team members are: Brittany Alcordo, Kendall Bachman, Dana Bennett, Chris Cassidy, Taryn Dasilva, Dominic Diaz-Ascani, Philip Gilroy, Kyli Graham, Savannah Hancock, Mekenzie Hargaden, Uriah Harris, Emily Hatley, Heather Hendrix, Amanda Kennedy, James Occhuizzo, T'Chana Parris, Shelby Pelz, Michael Smith, Katrina Sommers, Stephanie Taylor, Kayla Tyson, John Vicker, Edrick Williams, Jessica Young and Adriann Zeegers.
The varsity co-ed team will be traveling to Tallahassee on March 13 to defend its state title.
They will be having a family and friends night on Thursday at 6 p.m. and the public is invited to come out and watch the team perform in the high school gym.
Admission is free.
The junior varsity will also be performing their competition routine from this season.
