SEBRING - A Sebring man was out of jail Tuesday on a $20,500 bond after his weekend arrest for allegedly trying to sell drugs within a short distance from Sebring Middle School.
Antonn Rukein Crumity, 29, of 6211 Fara St., Sebring, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell within 1,000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Members of the Highlands County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant Friday at 418 Lula B. White St., in Sebring. It was believed Crumity either lived there or spent a lot of time at the home, according to the arrest report. Information gathered during the investigation alleged that he kept and sold drugs out of a utility room on the side of the house.
After the search warrant was served, investigators reportedly found cocaine, marijuana, three handguns, money, razor blades, plastic bags and smoking pipes inside the utility room.
The cocaine weighed more than 12 grams, while the marijuana was approximately 24 grams, including the small bags it was packaged in.
Crumity told investigators he was staying at the home to help take care of his sick grandmother, the report stated.
The home was only a short distance from Sebring Middle School. A measurement was taken from the utility room's doorway to the eastern-most property line of the school and was reportedly 729 feet.
HCSO Deputy John Singha made the arrest.
