SEBRING - A seminar on how businesses should prepare if a disaster strikes the area will be held from 8 - 9 a.m. Thursday, June 25 at Heartland Workforce, 2730 U.S. 27 N., in Sebring.
The event is being hosted by Florida's Heartland Rural Economic Development Initiative in partnership with the Small Business Development Center at the University of South Florida, Highlands County EDC and Heartland Workforce.
A check list will be provided for businesses and how to set up a disaster plan will be discussed.
David Noel, a business counselor with the SBDC, will be one of the speakers. Noel said people need to focus on the fact that the time to take care of things is before something happens.
"Our aim is trying to help people be prepared," he said.
Breakfast will be included. Call Mary Freeman at 385-4900 for more information.
