LAKE PLACID - A Lake Placid man remained in jail Monday in lieu of a $105,500 bond after being arrested Friday for first-degree attempted felony murder.
Rico Antone Davis, 26, of 410 Plaza Ave., Apt. 7, Lake Placid, was also charged with discharging a firearm in public and firing a missile into a dwelling, vehicle, building or aircraft.
Officers responded to 201 Jupiter Ave., in Lake Placid, in reference to a shooting. The victim told law enforcement he and Davis were having a disagreement over rent money. The suspect reportedly began arguing with a witness before hitting him twice in the face, according to the arrest report.
Davis then told the victim, "It is your turn next." He reportedly got a firearm from his car and fired one shot at the man, which hit the front of the home close to where the victim was standing.
After saying, "You want it, you want it," Davis pointed the gun at the victim and fired again, the report stated. The firearm, however, was actually pointed into the air.
Anthony McGann with the Highlands County Sheriff's Office made the arrest.
