Heartland Idol schedule discussion set

SEBRING - Scheduling for Heartland Idol will be discussed Tuesday at the Sebring City Council meeting.

Members of the Heartland Idol board will ask council members for permission to hold the popular singing contest at Circle Park, in downtown Sebring.

Diane Lynn Walker will make the presentation.

Proposed dates for 2009 are as follows:

Aug. 27 - Junior/Teen Qualifier; Sept. 3 - Junior/Teen Qualifier; Sept. 10 - Junior/Teen semi finals; Sept. 17 - Junior Finale and Adult Qualifier; Sept. 24 - Rain Date; Oct. 1 - Teen Finale and Adult Qualifier; Oct. 8 - Adult Qualifier; Oct. 15 - Adult Qualifier; Oct. 22 - Semi Final Theme Night; Oct. 29 - Semi Final Theme Night and Halloween Show; Nov. 5 - Semi Final Theme Night; Nov. 12 - Rain Date; and Nov. 14 - Finale.

Organizers will present council with a certificate of insurance from the Special Event Liability and Trust Group.
