Commissioner Jeff Carlson is absolutely right when he said the county libraries have become repositories of pop culture instead of actual libraries.
When romance novels and bad movies become more important than the classics and a desire to learn, the library becomes nothing more than a day care center for people who love Britney Spears and watch "90210" on TV.
If you keep dumbing down the libraries it could save the county money though. In a few years you will just need to hang some shiny objects from the ceiling and have the librarian rattle her car keys to keep the patrons amused.
