SEBRING - Sarah Pallone, president of the Greater Sebring Chamber of Commerce, has resigned to take a position with Highlands County Habitat for Humanity.
Pallone was named interim director when Dan Andrews was fired in April 2008. She was named the new president and CEO in August.
David Noel, chairman of the board, said the executive board will meet today and talk about hiring an interim director from the community until a search for a permanent replacement can be named.
"We have a number of talented people in our community," Noel said. Several have approached the board and offered their services.
The executive board will forward its recommendations to the full board, which will make a decision. He expected the interim director will shadow Pallone until she leaves later this month.
"It will be a smooth transition," Noel said.
Pallone, who will begin working at Habitat in July, said she has served on Habitat's board of directors since January.
