As Americans we spend billions of dollars each year on Halloween and Christmas yard decorations, yet as I drive around our county I see very few American flags flying.
As Flag Day (June 14) and the 4th of July approaches, I would hope that all of us, American born or not would feel a sense of pride and duty and fly our great flag. This should be every day and not just June 14 or July 4; we can start this year. It does not cost a lot of money to buy a flag or even decorate with our colors of red, white and blue. You can buy a flag at Walgreens for only $10, which is only a drop in the bucket compared to what a lot of people spend for other holiday decorations.
Be proud that you are an American. Be proud of where you live; show our active and retired military that you are proud of them and that you are thankful for what they do for us, our families and our country. Fly our colors; fly our stars and stripes; fly our flag. Let each other and the world know that we are proud to be Americans. I look forward to seeing your support by each street and road flying row upon row of flags.
