SEBRING - A Sebring man was free Friday on $1,000 bail after he reportedly was pulled over Thursday on Lakeview Drive, after a Sebring Police Sergeant reported he observed what he thought was a drug buy.
Marvin Andre Jones, 36, of 4321 Shad Drive, in Sebring, was booked on a charge of possession of cocaine.
Sebring Police Sgt. Tom Gilliard reported that at about 11:10 p.m. Thursday he was watching a particular location when he saw three men walk up to a green Ford Explorer as soon as the vehicle came to a stop.
"Through my approximately 13 years of law enforcement experience I recognized the actions described above as being common in street-level drug sales," he wrote.
He got behind the SUV and ran the tag. It came back to a beige pickup truck, so he pulled it over at Mi-La-Kee Avenue.
During the course of his investigation Gilliard said he found a bag with several pieces of suspect crack cocaine on Jones' right front shorts pocket, the report stated.
