LAKE PLACID - A Lake Placid man was free on $2,000 bail Tuesday after he was charged with grand theft in connection with the alleged possession of golf carts that were reported stolen in May of 2008.
Cameron Michael Milicevic, 19, of 3134 Oleander Drive, was booked into the jail on June 26 on charges of two counts of grand theft $300 or more but less than $5,000.
According to the arrest report, the golf carts were stolen on May 22 and 28, 2008 from victims on Henderson Road and Big Pine Road. The value at the time was listed at $3,000 for one and $4,300 on the other.
Milicevic reportedly told investigators he bought two carts for $500 each. The machines had been repainted another color and all vehicle identification numbers were removed, the report stated.
He was also charged with possession of a motor vehicle with missing vehicle identification numbers.
