Skylarks To Play For Dance Club
SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club hosts ballroom dancing tonight from 7 - 9:30 at the Sebring Lions Club on Sebring Parkway.
Music will be provided by the big band sound of The Skylarks.
Free ballroom dance instruction from Walt and Sue is available at 6:30 p.m.
All club dances are open to the public. Appropriate dress is required.
Admission is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers.

Highlands County Fair Continues
SEBRING - The 72nd Highlands County Fair will be held today at the fairgrounds, located on the west side of Highlands Avenue across from Sebring High School.
Gates open at 5 p.m.
General admission is $6. Children 10 and under can get in free when accompanied by an adult. -
Curtain Coming Down On Play
SEBRING - The final three performances of "Don't Drink the Water" are set for this weekend at the Highlands Little Theatre in Sebring.
There will be shows tonight and Jan. 31 at 8. A matinee performance is set for 2:30 p.m.

LP Art League To Present Show
SEBRING - The Lake Placid Art League will present its 22nd annual Art Show and Sale from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Jan. 31.
The event will be held at the Bert J. Harris Jr. Agricultural Center, located at the corner of U.S. 27 and George Boulevard, in Sebring.
More than 50 artists are scheduled to exhibit their work.
The show is free to the public.
Sebring Library To Host 'Movies'
SEBRING - "Movies by Moonlight," put on by the Sebring Public Library and the Highlands Art League, will have the next showing on Jan. 31 at 6 p.m., in the back yard of the Highlands Art League's Yellow House, next to the library.
A youth group will be selling refreshments, but movie goers are welcome to bring their own food and drinks, along with blankets and/or lawn chairs for seating.
According to the library, licensing rules prevent it from disclosing the title of the movie. The library selected a movie that has to do with Black History Month. The movie is about a young girl raised by a pair of liberal, sophisticated parents, and her announcement to them of her intention to marry a brilliant scientist she met on vacation. One little problem though - the parents have a problem with the fact that their daughter loves a black man.
'Sound Of Music' At LP Library
LAKE PLACID - The movie "Sound Of Music" will be shown at 2 p.m. Jan. 31 at Lake Placid Memorial Library.
There is no charge for admission. The popcorn and lemonade are also free.

Dance Planned At Sebring Village
SEBRING - Sebring Village will be sponsoring a dance from 7:30 - 10:30 p.m. Jan. 31 in the clubhouse, which is located one mile behind Wal-Mart off Schumacher Road.
The cost is $3.50 for members and $5 for nonmembers.
The music will be provided by Joe and Jackie.

Bok Tower Celebrates 80th Anniversary
LAKE WALES - Bok Tower Gardens will commemorate its 80th anniversary with free admission Jan. 31.
"Sharing The Gift" is the theme of the celebration from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The national historic landmark was dedicated in 1929 as a gift to America from Pulitzer Prize-winning author and humanitarian Edward Bok.
Comedian To Perform In Lakeland
LAKELAND - Celebrity voice impersonator and comedian Craig Gass will do two shows at 8 and 10 p.m. Jan. 31 at The Lakeland Center.
Tickets are available now for $20 at www.brownpapertickets.com or can be purchased at the door night of the performance. Those attending must be 18 or older.

Concert Series At Bok Tower Gardens
LAKE WALES - Bok Tower Gardens' Music at Pinewood concert series begins Feb. 1 at 4:30 p.m. with a performance by pianist Judith Alstadter.
A reception with refreshments to meet the artist will follow the concert. Tickets are $25 or $20 for members. Seating is limited. Call 863-734-1221 or e-mail phrestina@boktower.org for reservations.
The "Classics to Jazz" concert will include Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata," Strauss' "Vienna Life," selections by Chopin, Gershwin and other composers. A graduate of Juilliard with a doctorate from Yale, Alstadter will provide insightful commentary on the music and composers.
