Thank you for all who helped with the Maria Dewberry Children's Foundation Luncheon. I would like to thank Donna Dewberry, who gave up her time and talents to come to Highlands County and help raise money for the foundation. Donna and Marc Dewberry donated the proceeds to the Sebring Elks Lodge for the Harry-Anna Fund to help send underprivileged children to camp and the physical therapy program.

Thank you also goes to our local merchants who in these hard economic times provided door prizes and items for our silent auction table: Michael's, The Golden Pineapple, Lakeview Restaurant, Barney's, Andy and Diane Mish of Sebring and the Sandwich Depot, Hotel Jacaranda, Judy Nicewicz, of Avon Park, Lois Trainor and Margie Pollard of Avon Park. Also donations from the One Stroke Certified instructors from Palm Coast, Diane Foreman, Diane Franklin, Cindy Markowski of St. Augustine, Elaine Barchi of Bradenton, Vicki Alley, Deanna Spence of Frostproof, Elaine Carden and Judy Nicewicz of Avon Park.

Bruline Bikar, GM of the Golden Pineapple, helped with ticket sales this year by making them available for sale in the evenings at the Golden Pineapple, downtown Sebring. Joe Bryant and his staff at the Elks Lodge served a delicious lunch and Eddie did a terrific job with setting up the room for us.

I would like to thank my students Pat Geller, Margie Pollard, Andy Mish, Ralph and Sharon Erwin, Corlan Young, who helped out wherever needed. They are always willing to help many causes throughout the year. Andy and Diane Mish, Ralph and Sharon Erwin, Margie Pollard, Cathy Carlson, Becky Osbeck came to my home on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 2, 2008 and painted 55 ornaments to go to the veterans for Christmas. I appreciate their service to the community.
