PALMETTO - Senior Jazan Jimenez kicked the game winner and goalie Ryan Cochran had the save of his life to lift Sebring to an 8-7 victory on penalty kicks over Sarasota Booker in the opening round of the Class 4A-District 10 tournament on Monday.
With the score tied at 2 after regulation and a two overtime periods, Sebring and Booker matched each other goal for goal and were still deadlocked after the first five players during penalty kicks. A goal and a miss by each set up Jimenez, who sent his shot to the left of the Tornado goalie and Cochran made a beautiful block to preserve the win.
The Streaks will face No. 1 seed Palmetto at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
