AVON PARK - The Highlands County Sheriff's Office is seeking three suspects who reportedly robbed three motorists Thursday night in Avon Park.

Det. Tim Lethbridge said the incident took place on a dirt road behind the Racetrack Gas Station in the area of Martin Road and South Lake Boulevard. Three individuals were traveling by car on the road when a black male reportedly jumped out of an orange grove and in front of the vehicle, causing the driver to swerve.

Lethbridge said the car went off the road and two other black males, along with the first, approached the vehicle and robbed the occupants of money, IDs and various cards. A firearm was said to have been used in the commission of the crime. No injuries were reported.

One of the suspects is listed as around 6 foot-2 inches tall and 150 pounds, with a possible gold tooth. He was reportedly wearing a beige "hoodie-type" jacket.

The second individual is between 5 foot-8 inches and 5 foot-10 inches tall and 145 pounds. He was said to be wearing dark pants, a ski cap and some type of hoodie.

There was no description on the third suspect other than he was a black male.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Tyrone Tyson with the sheriff's office at (863) 402-7200.
