Highlands County Fair To Open Today

SEBRING - The 72nd Highlands County Fair will open today at the fairgrounds, located on the west side of Highlands Avenue across from Sebring High School.
General admission is $6. Children 10 and under can get in free when accompanied by an adult.

Gates will open at 5 p.m.
Exhibit buildings will also open at 5 p.m.

Expo Continues At Sebring Airport

SEBRING - The U.S. Sport Aviation Expo will continue today, Jan. 24 and Jan. 25 at Sebring Regional Airport.

Gates open at 8 a.m. every day.
General admission is $10 daily.

Highlandaires To Play For Dance Club

SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club hosts ballroom dancing tonight from 7 - 9:30 at the Sebring Lions Club on Sebring Parkway.

Music will be provided by the big band sound of The Highlandaires

Free ballroom dance instruction from Walt and Sue is available at 6:30 p.m.

All club dances are open to the public. Appropriate dress required.

Admission is $5 for members and $7 for non-members.

'Don't Drink The Water' On Tap At HLT

SEBRING - The play "Don't Drink the Water" will continue this weekend with three more performances at the Highlands Little Theatre in Sebring.

There will be shows tonight and Jan. 24 at 8. A matinee performance is set for 2:30 p.m. Jan. 25.

DJs To Entertain At Sunset Grille
SEBRING - Entertainment is planned this weekend at the Sunset Grille in Sebring.

DJ Stretchum will be at the restaurant, located at 2650 U.S. 27 S., tonight from 10 to 2 a.m.

Playback will be there Jan. 24.

Reflections On Silver Lake Hosting Dance
AVON PARK - Reflections on Silver Lake in Avon Park is hosting a dance from 7:30-10:30 p.m. today, featuring the duo of Don and Allen.

The cost is $5 per person. Bring your own snacks and drinks, ice is provided and soda is available for purchase. The public is welcome.

Ridge Area Arc Hosting Tea

SEBRING - Ridge Area Arc will host its Arc Afternoon Tea from 2 - 4 p.m. at the Lakeside Tea Room on Jan. 24.

Tickets are $30 per person and that includes a meal and drink.

The guest speaker will be author Terry Odell.

'Water Horse' To Be Shown At Library

LAKE PLACID - The movie "Water Horse" will be shown at 2 p.m. Jan. 24 at Lake Placid Memorial Library.

There is no charge for admission. The popcorn and lemonade are also free.

Sun 'N Lakes To Host Fish Dinner

LAKE PLACID - The Sun 'N Lakes Improvement District of Lake Placid will hold its annual fish dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Sun 'N Lakes Community Center, behind the fire station on South Sun 'N Lakes Boulevard near Lake Placid.

There will be fish, hushpuppies, baked beans, coleslaw, cheese grits and dessert.

The Van-Dells To Perform At Tanglewood

SEBRING - The Van-Dells will be performing at 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at Tanglewood.

The oldies show group specializes in 50s and 60s rock 'n' roll.

All tickets are $10.

The doors and snack bar open at 6:15 p.m.

Tanglewood is located one-half mile north of Wal-Mart on U.S. 27.
