SEBRING - Bundle up, snuggle up and get comfortable, because it's going to get cold outside tonight, Wednesday, and Wednesday night into Thursday.
According to John McMichael a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Tampa, a freeze warning will be in effect tonight with a wind-chill in the upper 20s.
A northwest wind will blow this afternoon at 16 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
"Temperatures should be in the 27 to 28 degree range," said McMichael. "Winds will be 5 to 10 mph overnight with wind-chills at 20 to 23 degrees when you combine the ambient temperatures with the actual wind."
Wednesday will be sunny with a high near 55 degrees. Wind chill values would make it feel as low as 21 degrees in the early morning. A north by northwest wind will blow between 7 and 11 mph.
"Tomorrow night we're looking at even colder temperatures bottoming out at 23 to 26 degree range," McMichael said. "Without a wind-chill advisory."
There is a freeze watch in effect for Wednesday night, with the possibility of wide-spread frost.
Conditions will be ideal for frost, McMichael said.
Winds will remain north by northwest calming down to between 3 and 5 mph, according to the National Weather Service Web site.
Thursday morning will be sunny, with a high near 60 to 65 degrees. Winds are predicted to come from the northwest between 3 and 6 mph.
Thursday night the forecast calls for mostly clear, with a low close to 33 degrees with a light north by northwest wind.
Normal temperatures are forecast for the weekend, McMichael said.
Friday weather for the Highlands County Fair calls for a perfect sunny day, with a high near 70 degrees. A calm wind will blow from the south at around 6 mph.
Friday night it will be partly cloudy, with a low about 45 degrees. Winds are expected to be light coming from a north by northwesterly direction.
Saturday, the forecast calls for more sunshine, with a high near 75 degrees. A calm wind will come from the southwest around 5 mph.
Saturday night calls for mostly cloudy skies with a low around 49 degrees.
