Unsupervised Kids

Well, it is time once again to moan about the Lakeshore Mall Teen Friday Tsunami.

I finally broke down and decided to go to see a movie at the mall yesterday, and I have to tell you folks, never again will I do the same stupid mistake.

This is directed to the irresponsible parents that are some of our Highlands County residents. Why do you have to dump your kids at the mall without a responsible adult, and by adult, I mean someone over the age of 21?

Is it so hard to supervise them? Since when has it become OK to dump your parental responsibilities on the rest of us?

Some of these kids are a bunch of uneducated hoodlums. Yesterday was a prime example, with them running around the mall, cussing and picking fights. I did see a security guard, though, and one sheriff deputy trying to curb these kids, but it was an uphill battle for the two of them as the night went on.

Some, not even old enough to vote were drinking and smoking. My question to you is this: where are these kids parents?

Don't tell me the line that they have no place to go. That is just rubbish! If you can't supervise your own kids at the mall, don't drop them off and expect the rest of us to do the parenting and educating for you!
