AVON PARK - Taking advantage of ideal scoring conditions, the talented foursome of Mike Browning, Carol Speer, Scott Faircloth and Dale Bradley finished first in the First Flight Low Gross division with a 58 in Saturday's American Legion Post 74 golf tournament at Pinecrest Golf Club.
The team of Scottie Fischer, Terry Crocker, Ed Trainor and Gentry Geouque won the Low Net division with a 53, while Bob Shepard, Bob Dutton, Rick Rafferty and John McLean placed second with a 54, after a match of cards with the quartet of Paul Morris, Jimmy Morris, Jimmy Fullerton and Glenn Hall.
The Second Flight Low Net winner's with a 53 was Kent McGlency, Buddy Heinley, Mike Conrad and Chuck Peckham, after a match of cards with Bob Ryon, Fran Collum, Steve Farrell and Stan Witzenberg.
The foursome of Lee, Menk, Otting and Samuel finished third with a net 54.
One of the highlights from the tournament was Kent McGlency's hole-in-one on the par 3, 10th hole.
