We salute the Palms of Sebring on their 50th anniversary. A number of their residents had been volunteers in our community, especially for our youth in the public schools.
Also, we salute the civic and governmental agencies that continue to aid our youth in spite of the economic downturn, statewide and nationally.
It is ironic, if not tragic, that the state legislature is cutting social programs, which serves the ever growing needs of our youth, service designed to correct problems early on and preclude even greater problems as our youth mature. It is difficult to resolve growing problems with decreasing funds.
