One of the St. Pete protest signs on the retaliation of Israel upon the Gaza Strip read "What did the kids do?" The answer to that question was the whole reason Israel could no longer hold back a response. For months and months Hamas terrorists have launched missiles from Gaza into neighboring towns just like Sebring.
As the months passed the missiles have become more powerful and reaching out greater distances. Hamas targets elementary schools, hospitals and residential areas. Sirens give them 14 seconds to reach cover. Imagine trying to carry on your life when at any given moment a siren goes off, you run for cover but wonder if your husband or wife is safe at work, if your children are safe at school or if your elderly parents and friends are safe in their homes. You are not even safe attending a wedding or eating out in a restaurant. The kids didn't do anything but they are a target of Hamas.
Israel could take no more; their citizens, both Arab and Jew, were being killed. Hamas terrorists set their missile launchers up in the middle of the civilian population. This puts even the Palestinian children in harm's way. That's why thousands upon thousands of leaflets were dropped warning the Palestinian parents and children to flee certain areas.
The Palestinian leaders may call this Israeli aggression but in my mind I call it protecting the children and their parents, no matter whether they are Palestinian, Arab or Jew from terrorists.
