AVON PARK - The Highlands County recycling bins that had been on Museum Avenue near The Depot Museum have been moved to the Durrah Martin Sports Complex.
Christy Reed, coordinator of the recycling program, said the bins had to be moved due to construction of the streetscape project on Museum Avenue.
Reed said the bins will be relocated back on Museum Avenue once the streetscape project is completed, which she expects in about six months.
The recycling program accepts aluminum cans, plastic bottles, cardboard, newspapers and magazines, office paper, and all junk mail except envelopes with plastic windows. Phone books are also accepted and should be placed in the white recycling containers for cardboard.
