As community resource director for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Highlands County, I would like to share our heartfelt thanks to the community for supporting our agency.

This was our fourth Snow Fest fundraiser. This event provides funding for our mentoring services that have a powerful, positive impact on the lives of local children. This event would not have been possible without tremendous community support from individuals, businesses and organizations throughout Highlands County.

Special thanks to the more than 2,000 friends and neighbors who brought their children to enjoy Snow Fest 2009. We appreciate your many positive comments and will incorporate your suggestions into our planning so that next year's Snow Fest can be even bigger and better.

Big Brothers Big Sisters salutes our wonderful committee members; Suzette Rhoades and Cary Pigman; co-chairs, Kelly Griffin, Sherri Crow, Jim Parker, Erin Stivender, and Melissa Dixon. Your organizational skills, energy and dedication to your community are inspirational! To our community board of directors, staff, our presenting sponsor Drs. Vinod and Tarlika Thakkar, the Sebring International Raceway and the many many volunteers the day of the event and all our generous sponsors both financial and in-kind especially our media sponsors, Highlands Today and Cohan Radio; we are more grateful than words can say.

Finally, additional thanks must go to the original "Snow Queens" who started this event four years ago. There is no way we would be where we are without the foundation that you laid out for us. From the bottom of our hearts, "Thank You" Stacey, Jenny, Debbi and Julie. We can't wait to do it again!
