Gary Filip And Friends To Play For Highlands Social Dance Club
SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club hosts ballroom dancing tonight from 7 - 9:30 p.m. at the Sebring Lions Club on Sebring Parkway.

Music will be provided by the party band Gary Filip & Friends.

Free ballroom dance instruction from Walt and Sue is available at 6:30 p.m.

All club dances are open to the public. Appropriate dress is required. Admission is $5 for members and $7 for non-members.

Line Dancing At Tanglewood

SEBRING - Tanglewood will be having a dance from 7-10 tonight at the clubhouse, located just north of Wal-Mart on U.S. 27, in Sebring.

Pauline Oliphant will be providing the music for the line dancing. Cost is $3 for residents with a name badge and $5 for all others.

Those planning to attend should bring their own snacks and drinks; only ice will be provided.

BackStage Pass To Play At Watering Hole

SEBRING - BackStage Pass will be at the Watering Hole tonight and Feb. 21 from 9:30 p.m. - 1:45 a.m.

Lake Placid Merchants To Holf Street Party

LAKE PLACID Lake Placid merchants will be holding a street party tonight from 6-8.

Sections of Interlake Boulevard and Main Avenue will be closed to permit pedestrian traffic. There will be food, music and clowns. Miss Lake Placid will be in attendance. Many merchants will be planning sidewalk displays and raffles.

Quilt Show Scheduled

SEBRING - "A Festival of Quilts" will be presented by the Highlands County Quilt Guild today and Feb. 21 at the Bert J. Harris Jr. Agricultural Center, located at the corner of U.S. 27 and George Boulevard, in Sebring.

The hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. both days.

Acoustic Eidolon Concert At Bok Tower Gardens
LAKE WALES - The popular musical duo Acoustic Eidolon returns to Bok Tower Gardens on Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

Returning for their fourth performance at the Gardens, guitarist Joe Scott and cellist Hannah Alkire blend Celtic, folk, bluegrass and Latin music to create an exciting new acoustic instrumental experience.

Tickets are $28 or $20 for Gardens members.

Sebring Mobile Estates Serving Breakfast

SEBRING - Sebring Mobile Estates, located off Kenilworth Boulevard, will serve breakfast from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Feb. 21.

The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage patties and links, sausage gravy and biscuits, orange juice and coffee.

Movies To Be Shown At County Libraries

SEBRING - Free movies will be shown at the Avon Park, Lake Placid and Sebring libraries on Feb. 21.

"No Way Out" will be shown in Avon Park.

"Speed Racer" will be shown in Sebring.

"Fiddler on the Roof" will be shown in Lake Placid.

All three movies will begin at 2 p.m.

LP Volunteer Fire Department Barbecue Set

LAKE PLACID - The 25th annual Placid Lakes Volunteer Fire Department barbecue will be held from noon until 4 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Placid Lakes Town Hall, located at 2010 Placid Lakes Blvd. Tickets are $8. Kids' tickets for a hot dog and a cookie and drink will be $4.

The bounce house will be set up for kids to enjoy. Tickets are available in advance from the firemen and at Home and Office Essentials, 204 S. Main Ave., and also on the day of the barbecue.

Tanglewood To Host Show

SEBRING - Tanglewood, located one-half mile north of the Sebring Wal-Mart on U.S. 27, has scheduled a different type of show as part of its Winter Concert Series.

Hollywood Revisited will be presented Feb. 22 with the original costumes from movies and shows of the past. A vocalist will sing and dance to movie-related music while wearing the costumes.

The show will begin at 7 p.m. Doors and the snack bar open at 6:15.

All tickets are $10.
