Polk County Greek Festival Set

WINTER HAVEN - The Polk County Greek Festival 2009 will begin today and continue through Feb. 15 at the St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church of Polk County in Winter Haven.

The church is located at 1030 Bradbury Road, which is off State Road 540.

Admission is $2 for adults and teens. Children 12 and under can get in free.

The hours are 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. today and Feb. 14 and 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Feb.15.

Greek food and pastries and entertainment will be featured.

Skylarks To Play For Dance Club

SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club hosts ballroom dancing tonight from 7 - 9:30 at the Sebring Lions Club on Sebring Parkway.

Music will be provided by the big band sound of The Skylarks.

Free ballroom dance instruction from Walt and Sue is available at 6:30 p.m.

All club dances are open to the public. Appropriate dress is required.

Admission is $5 for members and $7 for non-members.

Roaring Twenties Festival Slated

SEBRING - The 26th annual Roaring Twenties Arts and Crafts Festival will be held from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Feb. 14 in downtown Sebring.

There will be arts and crafts vendors as well as food and entertainment.

Breakfast To Benefit Heartland Horses

LAKE PLACID - A breakfast to benefit Heartland Horses and Handicapped will be held at 8 a.m. Feb. 14. at Henscratch Farms, 980 Henscratch Road, Lake Placid.

The cost is $11.

Backyard Moving Showing Scheduled

SEBRING - The "Movies By Moonlight" film that will be shown beginning at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 14 is a romantic comedy about a widower's son who goes on national talk radio to find a new wife for his lonely dad.

The movie will be shown in the back yard of the Highlands Little Theatre Yellow House, which is next to the Sebring Public Library.

Those planning to attend are asked to bring their own food and drinks as well as blankets and/or lawn chairs for seating.

Children's Museum Hosts Mystery Dinner

SEBRING - The 14th annual Museum Mystery Dinner Fundraiser, to benefit the Children's Museum of the Highlands, will be held Feb. 14 at the Highlands Little Theatre in Sebring.

Sleuths of Orlando will provide the show and The Depot will cater the event.

Tickets are $60 per person.

Doors open at 6 p.m.

Movies At Sebring, Avon Park Libraries

SEBRING - Movies will be shown at both the Sebring and Avon Park libraries Feb. 14.

"A Knight's Tale" will be shown at 2 p.m. in Sebring. Admission and popcorn are free.

The Avon Park Library Film Series will continue Feb. 14. A comedy from yester-year will be shown beginning at 2 p.m.

There is no charge.
