SEBRING - Open auditions will be held at 5:30 p.m. today and the same time Friday, for the stage version of Disney's "High School Musical" at the Thakkar Pavilion, behind the Highlands Little Theatre.
This Showstoppers Production performance dates are scheduled for May 1, 2 and 3.
The production is for performers ages 8 through 17 and the casting call will be for music and choreography. Individual character readings will not take place until callbacks, which will be announced at the auditions.
To be considered for an individual character role, you must attend one of these two audition dates. Everybody in the cast will be singing and dancing.
Rehearsals are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. weeknights and some Saturday mornings. All performers selected for this production will be required to become Highlands Little Theatre members to participate.
Pete Pollard and Lindsay Lynch will direct the play and Laura Wade is the assistant director. Musical direction by Tracy Schuknecht and choreography will be by Heather Boyce.
"This is the stage version, not the movie," said Pollard on Tuesday.
