Big Band To Play For Social Dance Club
SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club hosts ballroom dancing tonight from 7 - 9:30 at the Sebring Lions Club on Sebring Parkway.

Music will be provided by the Golden Era Big Band.

Free ballroom dance instruction from Walt and Sue is available at 6:30 p.m.

All club dances are open to the public. Appropriate dress is required.

Admission is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers.

BackStage Pass To Play At Watering Hole

SEBRING - BackStage Pass will be at the Watering Hole on U.S. 27 in Sebring tonight and Feb. 7 from 9.30 p.m. to 1:45 a.m.

Country Fair Opens In Lake Placid

LAKE PLACID - The 43rd annual Lake Placid Arts and Crafts Country Fair will be held Feb. 7 and 8 in DeVane Park.

The event will run from 9 a.m. 4 p.m. both days.

Sebring Mobile Estates To Serve Breakfast

SEBRING - Sebring Mobile Estates, located off Kenilworth Boulevard, is serving breakfast from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Feb. 7.

The menu will include pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage patties and links, sausage patties and links, sausage gravy and biscuits, orange juice and coffee.

Bok Tower Holds Carillon Concert Series

LAKE WALES - Bok Tower Gardens will be hosting the Moonlight Carillon Concert on Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert, "February Fever," will include patriotic songs honoring Presidents' Day and love songs for Valentine's Day.

After 5 p.m., admission is $5 for adults and $1.50 for children ages 5-12. Children under age 5 and members are admitted free.

The Blue Palmetto Cafe will be open until 7:30 p.m. The Visitor Center will remain open until 9 p.m.

Sweet Adeline Chorus Show At SFCC
AVON PARK - The Heart of Highland Sweet Adeline Show Chorus presents "Big Band Serenade."

The show will be held Feb. 8 at the South Florida Community College Auditorium in Avon Park.

Special guest quartets are: In The Mix and Showcase Showdown.

The show starts at 2:30 p.m.; doors open at 1:45 p.m. Advance tickets are $15. Tickets will be sold at door are $18. Call 382-1269, 452-1927, 699-0743 for more information.

This is the chorus' big fundraiser as part of the proceeds go into a scholarship fund for a high school student or students from Highlands County.

Dance Planned At Sebring Village

SEBRING - Sebring Village will be hosting a dance from 7:30 - 10:30 p.m. Feb. 8.

The dance will be held in the clubhouse, which is located one mile behind Wal-Mart off Schumacher Road in Sebring.

Happy Days from St. Petersburg will provide the music.

The cost is $3.50 for members and $5 for nonmembers.

Movies To Be Shown At Sebring, LP Libraries

SEBRING - Movies will be shown at both the Sebring and Lake Placid libraries Feb. 7.

"Journey to the Center of the Earth" will begin at 2 p.m. at the Sebring Public Library.

Admission and the popcorn are free. At Lake Placid Memorial Library, "Pippin" will start at 2 p.m.

There is no charge and the public is invited to attend.

LP Library Offers Bagpipe, Drum Concert

LAKE PLACID - On Feb. 8 at 2 p.m., two of the oldest musical instruments still in existence will be featured in a free concert at the Lake Placid Memorial Library.

The bagpipe and drums concert is sponsored by The Friends of the Lake Placid Memorial Library.

The library is located at 205 W. Interlake Blvd. Call 699-3705 to reserve a seat.
