STREAKS LEAD ALL THE WAY IN 41-35 VICTORY; FACE DESOTO FRIDAY

AVON PARK - Senior Hannah Shoop scored 11 points and the Sebring girls basketball team led the entire way and hit its free throws late to nab a 41-35 upset victory from Braden River on Tuesday at the Class 4A-District 10 tournament at Avon Park High School.
The sixth-seeded Streaks led the entire way, taking an 11-1 lead after the first while holding the third-seeded Pirates without a field goal. Braden River cut the lead to 35-31 with 1:07 remaining, but Sebring hit its free throws down the stretch to advance to the next round.
Emmanice McCullors added eight points and Shannon Williams and Madison Rose added six points each.
The Streaks will face second-seeded DeSoto in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday.
