This is in reference to the humorous letter from Ron Geouque dated Jan. 30.
Over the years, you have provided many chuckles and smiles, my friend. You have continually proved my point that the Democrats that are from the "hate Bush" crowd refuse to let the "truth" get in their way. Let's look through your humorous article:
Prior to 9-11, no one expected that an attack of that magnitude would ever occur on American soil by ragtag terrorists. All governments receive "memos" indicating everything under the sun. To play the "hindsight" game is the easiest thing to do.
When bringing up Bush "lies, miscalculations and faulty assumptions," you laughingly ignore the fact most Democrat leaders, including the Clintons, believed that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction. If you believe that they made their decisions on what Bush told them, I have some swampland in the Everglades to sell you.
Continuing with your humor, you say Bush was at fault for not having what you call an "adequate coalition of forces," again proving my point; you completely ignore the well-known fact that Russia, China, France, Canada and others were financially obligated to Saddam's regime. Oops?
Bush's efforts to change Iraq into a Democratic country and change the face of the Middle East have been highly successful so far. I would not want to be Obama if the destiny of Iraq reverses course.
You're right about one thing; Democrats will not take responsibility for the "change" they brought in the last two years because Democratic politicians never take responsibility for anything negative! Ever ask yourself why Congress' approval ratings have been lower than Bush's the last two years?
I have to assume you are again joking about the ongoing mortgage crisis and the economy. Everyone knows the whole situation was caused by the Democratic "everyone must own a home policy" and the Democrat's misguided efforts to make it happen.
Katrina fiasco was started by the Democratic governor Kathleen Blanco; that's a fact.
No stem cell research? Ripping the brain out of a child at birth? Thank you President Bush.
You want national health care? Canada has 8-20 percent government tax added to every sales and 51 percent income tax. They wait months and years for non-emergency operations (posted recently by a Canadian in the Tampa paper.) Ask any Canadian how their liberals defeated one of the greatest fighting armies in the world without firing a shot?
In just 10 days, Obama has already started down the road to socialism. Welcome to France. Now there's an economy we want to use as an example. I would not want to be Obama if a terrorist attack does occur and it was found that we had a knowledgeable terrorist in custody and allowed him to lawyer up to silence. Do we want Obama to succeed? This is suddenly a very tough question. Bush is gone; let's hear from you Obama. Please make us laugh my friend.
