Gallery and Downtown Walk planned in Sebring
SEBRING - Participating art galleries and stores will greet guests from 5 to 8 p.m. today in an open-house format during the December Gallery and Downtown Walk in Sebring.
Most venues will be decorated for the holidays and will be serving light refreshments.
Everyone in the community is invited to join in singing Christmas carols during tonight's event. Children and adults interested in caroling will be gathering at Wild Artist Jewelry, 125 N. Ridgewood Drive, at 5 p.m.

The Golden Era will play at dance club
SEBRING - The Highlands Social Dance Club hosts ballroom dancing tonight from 7 - 9:30 at the Sebring Lions Club on Sebring Parkway.
The Golden Era will be playing.
All club dances are open to the public. Appropriate dress is required.
Admission is $5 for members and $7 for nonmembers.

Bok Tower Gardens' holiday music at Pinewood
LAKE WALES Soprano Alana Trimmier will perform seasonal selections during evening concerts at Bok Tower Gardens today and Dec. 13. The Music at Pinewood concerts will begin with a special evening Christmas at Pinewood holiday home tour at 7. A champagne reception to meet the artist will follow each performance.

A graduate of Frostproof High School, Trimmier received undergraduate degrees in vocal performance from Florida State University and Covenant College in Georgia.

LP Christmas Parade to step off downtown
LAKE PLACID - The annual Lake Placid Christmas Parade will be held at 7 p.m. Dec. 12.
The parade will begin at the corner of Dal Hall Boulevard and North Main Avenue. It will head south to Interlake Boulevard and then turn east and continue to U.S. 27.
Dance slated at Sebring Village
SEBRING - A dance will be held Dec. 12 from 7:30 - 10:30 p.m. in the clubhouse at Sebring Village, located one mile behind Walmart off Schumacher Road.
The cost is $3.50 for members and $5 for nonmembers.
Music will be provided by Larry Musgrave.

Saturday Morning Market in Lake Placid
LAKE PLACID - The Lake Placid Saturday Morning Market is set for Dec. 12 from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. in Stuart Park, at the corner of Interlake Boulevard and Pine Street.
There will be food, wine, pottery, jewelry, candles, fresh produce, live plants and silks as well as homemade breads, jams, pickles and salsa.
Gary Filip will be entertaining.
Breakfast and lunch will be available.
Movies being shown in local libraries
SEBRING - Free movies will be shown Dec. 12 in Highlands County public libraries. They begin at 2 p.m.
The schedule includes: "Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure" in Sebring, "Night Shift" in Avon Park and "UP" in Lake Placid.

Winter Concert Series continues at Tanglewood
SEBRING - The Tanglewood Winter Concert Series will feature the Yearys Ozark Christmas Show on Dec. 13.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and the show will begin at 7.
