Man accused of attacking roommate with bug spray
SEBRING - Erwin Acosta, 48, of Sebring, was charged Saturday with battery on a person 65 years of age or older after allegedly spraying his roommate in the face and eyes with Raid bug spray.
The victim told authorities she woke up when Acosta started spraying her with the spray. When she tried to leave, the suspect grabbed her hair and threw her backwards, according to the arrest report.
She was eventually able to get out of the house and call law enforcement from a neighbor's home.
Highlands County Sheriff's Deputy Richard Kilborn III made the arrest.
Woman accused of attacking man with machete AVON PARK - Kathleen M. Brown, 62, of Avon Park, was charged Friday with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly swinging a machete toward a man.
The man told police he was woken up by Brown "trashing the residence" and breaking glass, according to the arrest report.
The machete was later found by law enforcement wrapped in a blanket on a living room coffee table.
Avon Park Police Officer Earl Tilman made the arrest.
