SEBRING - Ashley and Zolli Ziglar came into this world on May 1 with severe heart conditions that require surgery within the next few weeks.
They also need type O negative blood, which is extremely scarce across the state at this moment. Between the two girls, they have already used 10 units.
Those who are O negative are asked to please consider donating. Ashley, who has not left All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg, will have surgery Aug. 28. Zolli's operation will follow on Sept. 2.
Florida Hospital Heartland Division has set up an account with Florida's Blood Centers to take donations for the twins. Those interested in donating should let the staff know they are doing a directed donation for the Ziglar twins.
The local Florida's Blood Centers address is 6550 U.S. 27 N. in Sebring. Hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The number is 863-382-4499.
