JROTC commander to speak at range

AVON PARK - Col. Richard J. Ragaller, director of Air Force Junior ROTC units around the world, will be the guest speaker at the annual welcome back luncheon for area units.

Ragaller will update what the future holds for JROTC programs, said retired USAF Col. William E. Hutchinson, president of the local Air Force Association chapter.

Local instructors this year include Col. Warren Johnson and SFC Robert Robinson at Lake Placid High School, SFC Valarisa Gibson at Okeechobee High School, Maj. Craig Burch and 1SGT Timothy Edsell at DeSoto County High School, Col. Robert Smith and SMSGT Larry Ferguson at Sebring High School, Lt. Col. Tony Hingle and CMSGT Robert Waltich at Hardee Senior High School, Maj. J. Kendall Galloway and CMSGT Dennis Green at Avon Park High School.

The luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Avon Park Bombing Range Dining Facility.
