SEBRING - A Highlands County Sheriff's deputy was involved in an accident Friday evening while responding to call.
The accident happened at about 6 p.m. Friday that left only minor injuries but about $15,000 in damage to two vehicles, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.
Deputy Dennis W. Williams II, 29, was traveling westbound on SR 70 and lost control of his vehicle, according to the report. It crossed the centerline and rotated counter clockwise, colliding with a vehicle traveling eastbound.
Williams was not injured but Donald Highland of Okeechobee had minor injuries and was taken to Raulerson Hospital.
FHP estimated damage to Williams' vehicle to be about $10,000 and about $5,000 to Highland's vehicle.
