SEBRING - The 17th annual "Stamp-Out-Hunger" Postal Food Drive will be held Saturday, May 9.
Sebring, Avon Park and Lake Placid post offices will be a part of this nationwide drive, which since 1993 has brought in 909 million pounds of food.
Food banks and charities have been hard hit during this economic crisis, which makes this year's drive more important.
Donations will fill local community food banks such as New Testament Mission, Salvation Army, St. Vincents and Church Service Center.
Those interested in participating could leave their donation on or by their mailbox for a mail carrier or volunteer to pick up the morning of May 9. Donations can also be dropped off at any post office or Goin' Postal or Alligator Pack and Ship office.
