LAKE PLACID - At noon Saturday, Highlands County deputies were still looking for the suspects in an early-morning armed robbery.
Lt. Jess Purvis said the victim was held up, but instead fought back. Emergency 911 operators got the call around 6 a.m., and were dispatched to a residence at Highlands Blvd. in Sun 'n Lake of Lake Placid.
"He fought back," Purvis said. "I don't know much about it at this point. We have a Spanish-speaking officer out there to translate. [The victim] only knows the first names of the suspects, and he may know where they live."
