Wauchula State Bank will mark its 80th anniversary by hosting a Tri-Chamber Mixer on April 16 at its Lake Jackson office in Sebring.

WAUCHULA - Wauchula State Bank, in conjunction with its 80th anniversary, will host the Tri-Chamber Mixer Thursday, April 16 at its Lake Jackson branch in Sebring.
The mixer will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. at 1385 U.S. 27 S.
The bank opened for business April 24, 1929 with a staff of three employees. On the bank's Dec. 31, 1929 Statement of Condition, total loans were $49,122 and total deposits were $229,643.
According to the bank, 2008's year-end Statement of Condition reported total resources of $583,102,450.93.
"Few banks have been able to remain family-owned, local and independent for this long," said J.W. "Bill" Crews Jr., the bank's chairman. "Our conservative, custom-focused approach has produced the strong, experienced bank we are today."
The Wauchula, Zolfo Springs and Bowling Green offices, as well as the two Sebring locations and the one in downtown Lake Placid, will host Customer Appreciation Days with employees serving refreshments April 28-30.
