NEW PORT RICHEY - Key mistakes at crunch time have been an unfortunate theme for the South Florida Community College volleyball team, and Thursday's match against Suncoast Conference foe Pasco-Hernando was no exception.
Two errors in the second game left head coach Kim Crawford searching for answers in the Panthers' 25-20, 25-22, 25-14 defeat to the Conquistadors that left them winless (0-5) in the conference this season.
"I see us coming together and playing well during stretches of a game, but when a team goes on a run against us, we have a hard time responding," Crawford said. "I thought we served and passed very well tonight, but two key mistakes, including giving up an ace with two girls standing motionless, cost us the second game.
"And we never recovered."
The Panthers are back in action today, when they host Warner Southern at 1 p.m.
