Five years ago, while employed as the medical director of Highlands County Sheriff's Office, I was reprimanded for wearing a department-issued shirt into the courthouse. I was told it was "too intimidating." As of that day, I never wore the shirt again (I don't have to intimidate people.) I wonder how much intimidation there is when the elected sheriff taps on your car window and continues even though she was told you have nothing to say to her, and an exchange of words ensues? Is that intimidating? Sheriff Benton implied people are trying to make her look bad. With her recent headlines she is doing an excellent job on her own and without anybody's input. Isn't it time to grow up?
